My name is Sylas May, and I'm a journalism student at the University of Kansas. And, even though I've never taken any formal classes in psychology, I have a strong interest in mental health, in part because of my family history. Several of my relatives have obsessive-compulsive disorder and anxiety-related disorders, so I've lived my whole life around people to whom mental healthcare is quite important. I've learned a lot about how these diseases are treated, and I've met quite a few friends whose lives are intimately affected by mental health issues.
